🇩🇪 - Camping im Winter ❄️ -

Zu Silvester 2021/2022 lagen die Temperaturen in Paris um den Gefrierpunkt. Für manche mag Vanlife bei solchen Bedingungen ein „No Go“ sein, aber für uns mit Standheizung, Solarpanel und kuscheligen Decken im Bett war es ein klares „Let’s Go“. Von Deutschland durch Belgien bis nach Paris legten wir etwa 1000 km zurück, machten Halt in #Reims und #Versailles, und erfüllten uns einen lang gehegten Traum:

🇺🇸 - Camping in winter ❄️ -

On New Year’s Eve 2021/2022, the temperatures in Paris were around freezing point. For some, vanlife may be a „no go“ in such conditions, but for us with our auxiliary heating, solar panel and cozy blankets in bed, it was a clear „let’s go“. From Germany through Belgium to Paris, we covered around 1000 km, stopped off in #Reims and #Versailles and fulfilled a long-cherished dream:

In der Nacht zum 1. Januar 2022 sanken die Temperaturen auf etwa 5°C, während wir direkt vor dem Disneyland campten und die beste Zeit unseres Lebens mit Mickey, Donald, Elsa und all den anderen Charakteren aus der bunten, schönen Disneywelt hatten.

🇩🇪 Ein Abstecher zur Kathedrale von Reims

Auf dem Weg nach Paris und um die 1000 Kilometer nicht in einem Rutsch abspulen zu müssen, legten wir einen Zwischenstopp in Reims ein, um uns eigenes Bild der riesigen gotischen Kathedrale vor Ort zu machen.

Die gotische Kathedrale Notre-Dame de Reims ist ein #UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe und der Ort, an dem viele französische Könige gekrönt wurden. Sie ist darüber hinaus bekannt für ihre beeindruckenden Buntglasfenster und architektonischen Details.

🇺🇸 Stop to explore Reims Cathedral

On the way to Paris and to avoid having to cover the 1000 kilometers in one go, we made a stopover in Reims to see the huge Gothic cathedral for ourselves.

The Gothic cathedral Notre-Dame de Reims is a #UNESCO World Heritage Site and the place where many French kings were crowned. It is also known for its impressive stained glass windows and architectural details.

🇩🇪 Für die Erkundung der Stadt quartierten wir uns mit dem Camper auf dem Camping Paris-Est ein, welcher sich in Champigny-sur-Marne, etwa 10 km östlich vom Stadtzentrum Paris befindet. Ideale Bedingungen also, um schnell in die Stadt oder ins Disneyland zu kommen.

Für uns war Paris nicht gänzlich unbekannt, sind wir in der Vergangenheit beide schon unabhängig voneinander und zu unterschiedlichen Jahreszeiten in dieser bemerkenswerten Stadt unterwegs gewesen.

Nun wollten wir aber gemeinsame Erinnerungen sammeln und besuchten einige der bekanntesten Sehenswürdigkeiten der Stadt wie den Eiffelturm, den Louvre oder das Künstlerviertel Monmatre sowie die naheliegende Basilika Sacre Coeur.

🇺🇸 To explore the city, we put up our camper at Camping Paris-Est, which is located in Champigny-sur-Marne, about 10 km east of Paris city center. Ideal conditions for getting into the city or to Disneyland quickly.

We were not completely unfamiliar with this awesome place, as we had both visited this remarkable city in the past, independently of each other and at different times of the year.

But now we wanted to collect memories together and visited some of the city’s most famous sights such as the #eiffeltower , the #louvre and the artists‘ quarter of Monmatre, as well as the nearby #sacrecoeurbasilica
